Aeronautics of Aerial with Sarah Arrigo $60 Purchase required to enroll
This workshop is 16+ only, please
Get ready for some Circus Science! How does flipping on a steel bar and tying ourselves up in ropes make our brains work better? How do we draw upon our strengths and minimize our weaknesses to build a sustainable, lifelong aerial practice? Join Circus artist, licensed occupational therapist and engineer, Sarah Arrigo, for a fresh and funky exploration using our brains and our bodies to take to the air!
In this 2 hour workshop we will apply the scientific principles of kinesiology and ergonomics to our aerial practice and learn some new trapeze tricks while we’re at it! We’ll get curious, hypothesize, and apply our findings to create dynamic aerial movement.
This workshop is perfect for beginning to intermediate level aerialists, with a focus on static and dance trapeze. The principles taught can be applied to all aerial disciplines AND all ages!
Extras! You will be given personalized materials to take home with and opportunities to review material and apply your knowledge.
Participants will walk away with:
-an understanding of neurodiversity, how we receive and organize information through our senses and apply it to aerial movement.
-a discovery of your unique sensory system and applications to achieve your circus goals.
-an basic understanding of neurodiversity, kinesiology, ergonomics and strategies on how to find the fit between you and your trapeze and move more effectively.
